Alternative Sentences

Depending on the particular offense and the circumstances of the case a drug offender may qualify for alternative sentencing.  Alternative sentences allow a drug offender to avoid imprisonment, and instead receive treatment and get rehabilitation.  I believe this is important to help resolve the underlying issue.  Drug rehabilitation, counseling, and treatment programs are available as alternative sentences as well as community service and probation.
